Some Rules of Jago Youth:

While attending the Youth Centre, youth have the right to feel safe and welcome.  To help keep the atmosphere at the Youth Centre comfortable for all youth, the following rules have been created.

1 Violence of any kind is unacceptable. Loud arguments, name calling, threats, 

   harassment, physical contact and/or any other signs BULLYING are NOT allowed.

2 Respect yourself & others. Degrading racial, ethnic, or homophobic remarks or 

   SWEARING is not welcomed here.

3 JAGO Youth facilities and property around you. Destruction, defacement, or theft of any 

   kind is not tolerated.

4 Gossiping or talking disrespectfully about anyone is not allowed. Speak for yourself, not 

    for others.

5  Behaviors associated with the possession or use of drugs and alcohol are not allowed. 

6  Noise must remain at a comfortable level for everyone. Everyone has an equal right to 

   say what is his/her in mind, or participation in any activity.

7  Youth MUST take equal turns in all activities.

8  Smoking at the centre is not allowed.

9   Anyone deliberately abusing, misusing or breaking equipment will be expected to pay 

     for a replacement. Please report any accidental breakages to staff; you will not be  

     penalized for that.


The Three Strike Policy

A three strike policy will be put in place for the youth participants of the Jago Community Youth Centre. If any youth fails to behave or abide by these rules, they will be asked to leave for the remainder of the youth meeting. If a youth consistently fails to listen to staff and does not abide by these rules, they will be asked to leave for the remainder of the youth meeting, and will not be able to attend following meeting the Youth Centre is open. This is Strike 1.  If this behavior continues, the youth participant will then be suspended for one week from the Jago Community Youth Centre. This is Strike 2.  Finally, after a youth has had a one week suspension from the Jago Youth Centre and still continues to not listen to staff, misbehave or not abide by the rules, the youth will then be suspended indefinitely, or until he/she, along with a parent or guardian, meets with the Youth Coordinator and Executive Director. This is Strike 3.


There is no Member ship fee at Jago Youth, but participation, Contributions and donations are well welcomed by the organization as the organization is totally non-profit and faith based so feel free to contribute


Any member who was suspended or dismissed from the activities of the JAGO Youth Centre shall be accepted and his/her membership reinstated once the Management Committee and Programmes Committee is satisfied such a member has been rehabilitated to their satisfaction.


Each Centre shall do everything in its power to ensure that these guidelines and rules of the JAGO Youth Centers are adhered to and respected.
